About this Event

Join us at 6:00 PM on March 27, 2026, at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, University of Toronto, Eberhard Zeidler Library for a captivating Indigenous Book Reading + Walking Tour, led by Trina Moyan. She will be reading selected text from Indigenous Rights in One Minute by Bruce McIvor. Then we will embark on a guided tour of the adjacent land surrounding the institution, while discussing Indigenous rights, Canada’s policies, and the relationship to the land.

Trina Moyan is an Elder in the Daniels First Peoples Leadership Advisory Group, an artist, and an activist who is nehiyaw iskwew (Plains Cree) from the Frog Lake First Nation in Alberta. She began her career as a writer and producer for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) and co-produced and directed the National Aboriginal Achievement Awards (now Indspire) for CBC Television. Moyan is a co-founder of Toronto-based Bell & Bernard, a First Nations consulting firm dedicated to including the histories and current realities of Indigenous peoples within urban planning projects, and has spoken widely on Indigenous inclusion and empowerment. Moyan is also a muralist, a traditional dancer and a University of Toronto alumna.

CAFÉ 2026: Indigenous Knowledge and Design is presented by the Canadian Architecture Students Association (CASA-ACÉA) as part of the Canadian Architecture Forums on Education. The series builds on previous national forums by centring Indigenous knowledge and design within architectural education.

CAFÉ 2026 is a non-profit, student-led initiative. Ticket revenue is reinvested into the event to support speakers, programming, and delivery across participating cities.

Tickets are not tax-deductible, and receipts will not be issued.
