This advanced cadaveric course offers a rare opportunity to build hands-on experience in cytoreductive surgery, with a focus on anatomy, safe operative technique, and multidisciplinary best practice. Designed and delivered by leading experts, the course balances theory and surgical application in a focused, high-support environment.

Course Details

Virtual Online Theory Session

• Wednesday 7th January 2026, 18:30 – 20:30 (GMT).

In-Person Cadaveric Workshop

• Thursday 15th January 2026, 08:30 – 17:00 (GMT) at the Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre, University of Manchester.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll explore the full scope of surgical management in peritoneal malignancy, including diagnosis, MDT coordination and detailed operative techniques such as:

• Peritoneal stripping and omentectomy

• Liver mobilisation and cholecystectomy

• Splenectomy and salpingo-oophorectomy

• Bowel resections and pelvic peritonectomy

Throughout the course, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of intra-abdominal anatomy using fresh frozen cadavers and work in small, supported groups to ensure maximum access to faculty guidance.

This Course is Ideal For:

• Consultant and senior trainee colorectal, oncological, urological, and gynaecological surgeons

• Surgical fellows with an interest in peritoneal surface malignancy

• Professionals looking to expand their surgical repertoire in complex oncological procedures

Venue Information

The MSSSC is centrally located within the city of Manchester and within the University of Manchester’s main campus. It is easily accessible by public transport, being a 5-minute drive from Manchester Piccadilly railway station and 20 minutes from Manchester International Airport. If travelling by car there is a NCP multi-story car park located nearby on Grafton Street, charges are applicable. There are hotels to suit every budget within walking distance or a short taxi ride.
