Cheersquad Records & Tapes are proud to present 3 amazing artists from their label, Skyscraper Stan & Oskar Herbig, Davey Lane and Grace Mitchell.
Grace Mitchell has been making music for over a decade. After her breakout moment covering the Hall & Oates song “Maneater” for the soundtrack of the major motion picture ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’, she released her first EP, Raceday, featuring the track "Jitter", which was praised by BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe as “possibly the song of the year so far.” A string of singles followed, along with performances at major festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, and support slots with the likes of The Weeknd, MØ, MUNA, Tove Lo, St.Lucia, Joywave, and more... Grace will be releasing her debut album, ‘Daughter of the King’ on Cheersquad Records & Tapes later this year.
Davey Lane is renowned for his iconic guitar work with the legendary Australian rock band, and ARIA Rock’n’Roll Hall of Famers, You Am I, and a successful solo career, which includes three acclaimed studio albums and his latest release, ‘Finally, A Party Record.’
As one of the most sought-after musicians in today’s music scene, this gun-for-hire has shared the stage and collaborated with notable artists such as Crowded House, Todd Rundgren, Robyn Hitchcock, Jimmy Barnes, Masters' Apprentices, The Saints and many others.
Antipodean songwriter Skyscraper Stan is a true believer in the power of words. One sentence, massaged just the right way, can be an entire story in and of itself. “I write songs slowly” he says “I think about everything I put down. Every line I sing, there’s a meaning to it”. Across a career spanning the better part of a decade, two studio albums, including the Cheersquad Records released ‘Those Were Days’, and countless live performances, he has established himself as one of the most thrilling lyricists working in Australia today. Endless months on the road, “singing for his chips”, observing the lives of people in town and country and putting it all down on paper has sharpened Stan’s songwriting to a fine point.
