An evening of Circling and Authentic Relating with Cacao in the stunning Skydome overlooking London
About this Event

This event offers the opportunity to experience the transformational practice of Circling in the unique Skydome whilst under the influence of Cacao.

Connection is often our deepest longing and simultaneously our greatest fear.

We may secretly yearn to be seen and met and at the same time take great care to be invisible or shape the way others perceive us.

Circling is a 21st-century wisdom practice based on numerous cutting-edge but simple techniques that support you in finding what is most true to you and communicating this powerfully and naturally.

This evening offers an opportunity to explore more of who you really are by inviting you to join in with practices that take the awkwardness and difficulty out of connecting and enable us to experience a sense of presence and profound connection with ourselves and others.

What makes it different?

While it can have similar benefits to meditation, performance coaching or therapy the point of focus with Circling is what is happening in the present moment in our connections with each other.

There is no trying to get anywhere (although we include our longings and desires); we simply open more skilfully to what is here within us and between us.

With a wide variety of tools we effortlessly uncover blind spots, facilitate powerful trusting relationships, and often experience and open to the richness and mystery at the heart of our being.

On the day

On arrival, you will be greeted and offered a cup of freshly prepared Cacao before heading up one flight of stairs into the Skydome where the Circling takes place.

We will explore the foundational practices in presence and connection in 2s, 3s and 4s before exploring group exercises. As we practice, we gain awareness of different parts of our experience.

Every circle is different, but they usually involve sharing with each other what we are noticing about our thinking, physical sensations and emotions. We follow our curiosity about what it is like to be me, to be you, and to be with each other.

During the practice, self-leadership and self-responsibility are encouraged. The most common format of a circle is a ‘birthday’ circle, where the group explores one person’s world for a period of time (perhaps 20 minutes).

Circling develops our skills for any relationship, be it with colleagues, housemates, friends, family members, clients or romantic partners.

Is this for you?

While this event suits those who have circled before and newbies, the process can be emotionally rigorous. It is a daring practice that requires courage to meet what is within us, all that is within the other and to reveal this to each other.

This workshop can be intense. People encounter places, states, emotions, beliefs, and sensations in themselves and others that are sometimes unfamiliar. We explore the unknown, the volatile, the ambiguous, and welcome emotions many deem as “negative” or “inappropriate” such as feelings of inadequacy, anger, sexuality, and joy. We refer to the willingness to feel difficult and uncomfortable truths as the “commitment to connection,” which of course includes a willingness to set appropriate boundaries and speak a desire for space, distance, and non-contact.

By attending our events you take responsibility for leaving the practice or participating in any given moment—which might include getting intimate with these kinds of experiences.

We will often explore multiple sides of seeming opposites at once, such as independence and interdependence, chaos and order, and agreement and disagreement. We believe this can reveal an underlying unity of the immediacy of experience.

If the above description of our workshops sounds potentially overwhelming or destabilising for you, if you have a mental illness or significant emotional challenges that you feel may be exacerbated by this type of transformational environment, or if you are not sure that you can be self-directed in taking care of your needs during the event, then we advise you not to enrol.

Timing

We begin at 7pm and kindly ask you to arrive 10 mins before so we can start promptly. We finish by 9:15pm.

Location

This session takes place in the stunning Skydome, 2 minutes walk from Deptford Station and 8 minutes walk from New Cross station. We have a maximum of 12 participants. You will receive exact location details on booking.

There is a brilliance in my emotional state that does not lend itself well to words, but without a doubt circling is a practice that I would not only recommend but encourage everyone to try.
