Cacao & Roots Medicine Journey

This guided journey is an invitation to connect to ritual, prayer, community and the depths of self through our relationship to The Plants. Sandra & Yella will open the evening with invocations and the word, offering an introduction to the healing properties of Cacao and its capacity to connect us with the heart, the earth, and each other. We will activate the voice through toning, sacred mantra, and breath before serving Cacao, then continue the journey with inquiry, meditation, mantra, live medicine music, and eventually a sound bath to wind down and integrate our experience.

Together with Cacao we will alchemize a blend of medicinal roots such as dandelion, licorice and ginger to support us in a process of deepening our grounding to Mother Earth. We will receive direct guidance from these plants teachers in connecting with, repairing and nurturing relationships with our wise and loving ancestors, our own personal roots. This wintertime ritual will be a unique opportunity to gently explore and heal energetic burdens within our lineages as well as to express our heartfelt gratitude for the strength and resilience we have inherited from our ancestors.

There will be an opportunity to share blessings and reflections at the end of the evening in a closing circle. Cacao is a very gentle medicine with subtle effects.

Preparation:

Please bring a meditation cushion or backjack so that you feel comfortable seated on the floor. We encourage you to arrive early and get settled in so that we can begin on time.

Bio:
Sandra Orellana Sears is an energy healer, yoga and meditation teacher, sound healing practitioner, and musician based in Mexico. She is also an initiated Reiki practitioner. When not immersed in her private practice, Sandra shares her passion for the healing arts and medicine music in retreats, community events, sacred rituals, and ceremonies rooted in earth-based wisdom. She has a Master’s Certification from the Academy of Intuition Medicine®, and graduated from the Bhakti Nova and Santa Monica Yoga teacher's training programs in California.

Yella Catalana is an animist herbalist, botanical alchemist and mother of daughters. In the indigenous wisdom way, Yella honors the streaming spirit of plants and is, above all, a student of their direct teachings. Her mission is to reawaken the ancient conversation between Plants and People, helping others to cultivate a foundational sense of belonging within themselves and to all of Creation. Yella weaves her training in Vitalist Herbalism and Traditional Western Herbalism with ritual, medicine and meditation. She is passionate about supporting others in their healing by helping them attune to the subtle language of Nature and empowering them to connect with their own inner teacher.
