BASIC RULES OF THE CABARET POETRY SLAM:
Perform your own poetry.
NO costumes or props allowed.
Three rounds. (3 minute limit)
Order chosen at random. Five Judges also chosen at random from audience for first round. During the second and third round the whole audience votes.
1st Round- All poets perform in (3 minute limit)
2nd Round- 4 poets perform (randomly chosen pairs)
3rd Round- 2 Poets go head to head.
WHAT IS A SLAM?
A poetry slam is a competition that blends art and performance. It combines the power of poetic expression, live performance, and the thrill of competition.
Participants must perform an original poetic text within a time limit (usually 3 minutes). The judges choosen at random will evaluate both the poetry and the performance. The winner is the performer who receives the most votes.
Because the outcome is decided by the audience, anything can happen during a slam. A newcomer can outperform an established poet, and someone shy but heartfelt might beat a dynamic performer.
A slam is a tournament of live words and intense emotions — poetry that speaks to both heart and mind. It’s no surprise that slam, which arrived in Poland in 2003 from the U.S. via the UK, has become increasingly popular and firmly rooted in the local cultural scene.

***Jak nie będziesz występować po angielsku, i masz tłumaczenia swoich wierszy, to prosimy o WKLEJENIE ich w wiadomość do nas zgodnie z kolejnością występu.
Na Puchar Warszawskiej Sceny musimy trochę się ogarnąć... no, tak jakby – ale postarajmy się tym razem nie złamać wszystkich zasad. Prosimy o dokładne zapoznanie się z zasadami tego slamu.
Nie będzie randomowych ukulele, piłeczek pingpongowych w policzkach, "przypadkowych przebrań", jawnego oszukiwania, zmieniania wierszy i występowania dwa razy w jednej rundzie, spóźnionych poetów wskakujących na scenę w ostatniej chwili, ani niemowląt jako rekwizytów. x) Tak... trzeba było tam być, żeby to zrozumieć... Spokojnie, slam i tak będzie świetną zabawą!
Co to jest slam?
Slam poetycki to konkurencja z pogranicza sztuki i sportu. Łączy siłę poetyckiego przekazu, występ na scenie i emocje związane z rywalizacją. Zadaniem uczestników turnieju jest zaprezentowanie w określonym czasie (najczęściej są to 3 minuty) autorskiego tekstu poetyckiego. Jedynym jurorem oceniającym jednocześnie jakość poezji i występu jest publiczność. Wygrywa osoba, która zdobędzie najwięcej głosów widowni. Zdanie się na osąd widzów oznacza, że podczas slamu może wydarzyć się wszystko. Z uznanym poetą może wygrać debiutantka, ze znakomitym performerem ktoś, kto nieśmiało powie tekst, który chwyci widzów za serce. Slam to turniej żywego słowa i gorących emocji, czyli poezji, która działa na serca i umysły. Nic dziwnego, że slam, który dotarł w 2003 r. nad Wisłę i Odrę z USA przez Wielką Brytanię, staje się coraz bardziej popularny w naszym kraju, w którym zadomowił się na dobre.
