C3 An Afternoon In The Material World at the Driehaus Museum
Chicago Creative Coalition (C3) opens its 2025 calendar of events by living large in the material world. We will visit the new Materialities exhibition at the Driehaus Museum, which explores how the mansion’s objects and architectural features link the past to the present. Renowned interdisciplinary artists have each selected a material used in the Museum and uncovered hidden cultural and historical networks that bind it to distant shores and peoples.
We will also tour the Museum — the former Gilded Age-era Samuel Nickerson Mansion — showcasing art, architecture, and design from the late 19th and early 20th century. The Museum has a distinctive reputation for artistic excellence in Chicago and worldwide and preserves the legacy of collector and philanthropist Richard H. Driehaus. Afterward, we’ll convene at Linda Levy’s nearby apartment to socialize.
We’ll meet on Saturday, March 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Driehaus Museum, 50 W. Erie in Chicago. The fee is $25 per member and $35 for non-members. Reserve your spot now—we look forward to seeing you there!
