It’s back!!!After auspicious beginnings in Fitzroy last year, BërdFest is now set to deliver yet another night of electric entertainment, right in the beating musical heart of Northcote!
Local genre-benders, ‘Dërty Bërd’, are proud to present BërdFest ’26, a night of pure musical debauchery and community. A sonic celebration, teeming with venerated vibrations and pleasing pulsations.
Featuring some truly unbelievably talented individuals who coalesce to form:
-3 Base Hit-
Whatever we play, it has to hit hard- tough, tight and locked into a powerful groove. 3 Base Hit are about bringing excitement and adventure to live music with huge riffs and improvised cliff hangers. 3 Base Hit will take you for a wild ride into the darker side of the jazz idiom. Drawing on experience from a lifetime of various musical projects, 3 Base Hit come together with intention and drive to push their sound into a new frontier. The self titled debut album is a bold first statement, captured live at Echidna Studio in Christmas hills and filmed by Joe Victory.

Melbourne-based soul outfit Steppers loudly announce their presence in 2026. Unhindered by any one mode or method
of creation, the unveiling of their 6-track debut album (released 18.04.2026) encapsulates the full weight of their combined experience and musicality, and with it, a slew of achievements.
Led by the beats and vocals of the esteemed Reginald AK, Steppers boldly anchors their ties to the Australian music scene (The Bamboos, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Ausecuma Beats, Bumpy, Kylie Auldist) using Rhodes, Telecaster and a unique strand of bass-driven & horn-laden cadence to solidify their distinctive take on soul, funk & RnB..
-Squid Nebula-
For over a decade now, Squid Nebula have been lighting up dancefloors across Narrm with their unique blend of soul, disco and psychedelia and fronted by the hypnotic vocals of Noongar musician Bumpy. In that time Squid Nebula have made their way from regular residencies for Cherry Bar’s Soul Night on AC/DC lane in 2015 to sets at festivals such as Queenscliffe Music Festival, Strawberry Fields and Loch Hart and supporting Zamrock legends W.I.T.C.H. In 2023, the band released their debut album From Here To You on Chris Gill’s Northside Records which received Album of the Week nods from Triple R and 2SER.
-Boggle-
Boggle is what Boggle does: Baritone saxophone, synth, guitar, drums, weirdness, wildness, wilderness, light and heavy, dark and steady, controlled chaos for the senses. With their debut LP out as of November ’25, Boggle has been taking stages by storm, and contorting chaos into the most danceable, moshable tunes you’ve heard yet. Twisting from stompy party synth hooks to dramatic noise rock belters, sometimes within the same song, their sound is a unique one. With Rosie playing synth and guitar at the same time, and pounding drums with beautiful flourish from Toby - underpinning Anna’s dramatic, energetic baritone saxophone playing, their stage show is not to be missed. It will subvert and exceed all expectations, and take you by surprise. Their on-stage presence is a joyous one, a release of energy that could only be directed by 3 friends doing the thing they love most together. Nothing gets Boggle going more than making a whole room of people dance.

Dërty Bërd is a Naarm-based, soulful/funky-reggae syndicate composed of mellifluous vocalists, earthy-toned brass players and a rhythm section that thrives on a dance-floor atmosphere. Dërty
Bërd is an eight-piece collective that borrows elements from afro-beat, ska, funk, soul and jazz and weaves them into one, attaining a sound akin to a love-child of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Kokoroko, Jorja Smith and The Fearless Flyers.
