Join Blue Zones Project Riverside and Seated Yoga Moai with Kristin, a 10-week experience designed to make yoga accessible to absolutely everyone. Whether you're managing mobility challenges, recovering from an injury, or simply prefer a gentler approach, this practice is built around you.
What is a Moai
Rooted in the Okinawan tradition of Moai, the lifelong social circles behind some of the world's longest-living communities, this gathering reminds us that wellness is not a solo journey. It is something we cultivate together, one breath at a time.
Seated Yoga with Kristin
Seated yoga is a gentle, accessible postural yoga offering facilitated by Kristin. Practiced entirely while seated, it begins with guided breathing to cultivate awareness, soothe the nervous system, and support mindful movement. Gentle movements of the head, neck, and shoulders follow, emphasizing the connection between breath and motion. Seated sun salutations and warrior-inspired sequences offer strength, mobility, and focus without strain. The practice continues with hip openers, forward folds, and seated inversions, and concludes with guided mindfulness meditation, along with offerings of gratitude and reflection.
Everyone is Welcome Here
All bodies, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome. No prior experience is necessary. There is never a cost.
What to Bring
Please consider wearing comfortable, layered clothing and bringing any practice supports you enjoy - mat, blocks, straps, bolsters, or blankets. Community practice supports are available, and you’re encouraged to use them freely. Bringing water to hydrate after practice is also a good idea.
