About this Event
Get Ready for the BYU Men's Chorus - In Concert!
For more than a century, the Brigham Young University Men’s Chorus has stood as one of the most distinguished collegiate men’s choirs in the world. Founded in 1901, the ensemble has grown into the largest collegiate male choir in the United States, known for its commanding sound, expressive range, and deeply moving performances.
Comprising approximately 180 singers from across the university, the BYU Men’s Chorus performs a wide-ranging repertoire that spans classical masterworks, sacred hymns, folk traditions, and contemporary choral music. Their performances balance power and precision with warmth and musical storytelling, creating concerts that resonate with both longtime choral enthusiasts and first-time listeners.
The ensemble is conducted by Dr. Brent Wells, Associate Professor of Choral Conducting and Ensembles at Brigham Young University. Dr. Wells directs both the BYU Men’s Chorus and Concert Choir and is widely respected for his musical leadership, scholarship, and artistry. His academic work focuses on hymnody and folksong, and his compositions and arrangements are performed by choirs internationally. As a conductor and performer, he is known for shaping performances that are both technically refined and deeply expressive.
Under Dr. Wells’s direction, the BYU Men’s Chorus continues its legacy of excellence while connecting audiences to the enduring power of the human voice. This Hawaii tour performance offers a rare opportunity to experience one of America’s most iconic men’s choral ensembles in an evening of stirring, joyful, and inspiring music.
