About this Event
The tour involves an very pleasant relaxing walk along the Maldon quayside, with stunning views over the Black water Estuary.
You'll see the best and most beautiful views of Maldon and experience the boats, birds, and hear the lapping of the water against the quayside.
On this fascinating tour, you will discover how the Vikings invaded Maldon, and how the Saxons heroically fought in one of the most terrifying battles Essex has ever known!
The tour rounds off perfectly on a lighter note, with a short talk on the history of fish and chips in England, and the story of Maldon’s famous salt.
You then have the option of staying to enjoy a delicious meal of fish and chips or scampi at an old 15th Century inn on the quayside, with super views over the water.

The Walk
Is and easy and gentle 2 miles of walking (approx) along pavements on the promenade.
This tour is wheel chair friendly but not suitable for those with walking difficulties
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead please at all times during the tour.
