Beloveds, I am so excited to welcome you to another community run edition of our Buy Nothing Event. April 11th, join us in togetherness, a warm lunch, a swap meet/garage sale of sorts where everything is free for the taking. Where we imagine a different world of open arms, sharing hearts, longer tables, laughter, smiles and getting our community funds the heck out of the system that feeds the war machine. Let’s buy less, share more and create community together.
We need volunteers to avoid burnout, so please message us if you have capacity to help out.
Areas of greatest need:
-People with hands or vehicles after the event for a quick cleanup (4 pm April 11th)
-People that want to help with set up before or during the event
-Local charities/folks who might want leftover clothing and household goods that can pick up ideally
-help in the kitchen making lunch/doing dishes
-People who would like to distribute flyers
-Help us share with your friends and networks
What kind of items can you bring? :
High quality items that someone else might use. We can take household items/furniture, but ask that it be in good/excellent condition. Please, *please* do not bring expired food, soiled items, things in poor condition (we ended up having to dispose of a lot of large trash last time, which was a bummer), or things people wouldn’t otherwise want to put their hands on.
When can I bring them?
We will be accepting donations 3-6 on April 10th at the back door of Next ( the large cartoon animals mark the spot) , April 11th from 9-12am or you can bring your items with you to the event.
We can’t wait to see you all, build community and participate in another way of existing outside of capitalism.
