The Yankton Community Library will be hosting a family storytime on Monday, May 4, at 6 pm. In celebration of spring, Jerry Webber will be reading books about Butterflies! Enjoy some spring songs and butterfly craft. We will also have some live caterpillar friends at the library during the month of May. Stop in for family storytime to see where the caterpillars are in their process of changing into butterflies. This event is free for families with children of all ages. Everyone is invited to participate! Each family in attendance can enter for a chance to win their own butterfly habitat and caterpillars to take home at the end of the night. The library also provides early literacy storytimes for young children on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10 am. Storytimes include music, stories, and a simple craft. Themes change weekly but Wednesday and Thursday programs are the same. The last regular storytime until Fall will be Thursday, May 7.
Looking for opportunities for play and interaction for your young child? Join us for Stay & Play each week on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 am. Come learn, grow, and play with us! Stay & Play will continue Tuesdays through May and then switch to Wednesdays from 9 am to 11 am in June and July.
