Come enjoy a book launch reading of BUTTERFLIES OVER LAND: Voices and Visions Resisting Anti-Immigrant Terror. This hardcover book includes a mix of genres, from poetry to nonfiction personal essays and short fiction.
Our guest readers include co-editors Jen Cheng and Camille Hernandez, with readers Pallavi Dhawan, and others TBA.
- This event is buy your own food and drink. Please be kind to the restaurant hosting us to buy something to show our gratitude for their generous space.
- Please kindly help us with your early RSVP here to attend. If you can help us know how many of these hardcover books to bring, your pre-orders are much appreciated! Books are for sale before and after the event.
- Everyone is welcome. Drop-ins are welcome.
- Please arrive by 5:30pm to get settled in as we would like to start at 6pm and finish our reading by 7pm to have time for community conversation and reception.
- This is the new waterfront location of the restaurant. From the convention center, it is 8 minutes by car or12 minutes by bus (orange route).

Archiving our stories and witnessing are ways we can build better coalitions and understanding of our humanity. Our co-editors have a deep commitment to social justice and this anthology archives stories from writers in Los Angeles County and Orange County. Proceeds from the book will be donated to two immigrant rights nonprofits connected to the anthology.
