Step into the world of student cinema at the 3rd Annual Butte Film Festival (BUFF) — Northern California’s premier showcase for emerging filmmakers! Organized entirely by students, for students, BUFF celebrates the creativity, talent, and stories shaping the next generation of cinema.

This year’s festival features five categories of student films: Drama, Comedy, Horror, Action/Sci-Fi, and Animation, culminating in BUFF’s signature Golden Doors Awards Ceremony on Sunday night, where 12 awards will honor the best of the best.

The 2025 theme brings a Cowboy/Western twist to the weekend — think saloon vibes, rustic décor, and a wild good time (no, the films themselves don’t have to be Westerns!).
