Come help us out at the sanctuary! 🐷Spend the weekend with us out in Greenhills, just past York. This is a two day event, but feel free to just come for one of the days if you prefer.
Rough schedule below:
🌞 Saturday
- Arrive at the sanctuary by 11am
- Assist with tasks
- Communal Dinner
🌞 Sunday:
- Communal Breakfast
- Assist with tasks
- Finish up around 4pm
There are a few beds available in the house to stay over, plus some floor space for mattresses and plenty of space for tents cars & vans of course!
This weekend we might be building a hay shed, removing walls from shelters for summer, adding sand to shelters and probably a few other things!
Things we need help with on an ongoing basis includes:
- General tidying up around the sanctuary 🏡
- Cleaning enclosures 🧹
- Cleaning shelters & replenishing hay 🌾
- Whipper snippering 🌿
- Cleaning cat litterboxes 🐾
- Plus spending time with the animals to help them to get more used to human contact. This is very important for their medical care, grooming and maintenance. The pigs in particular really need to get used to their feet being touched, to make it easier to have their hooves trimmed.
We will make a group chat closer to the date to arrange food, carpooling etc.
