This is Busker Fest.It is a living tradition that turns the sidewalk into a stage and a stranger into a front row guest. We bring world class traveling troubadours from across the globe to meet our own "Homegrown Heroes" like the legendary Funny Man Who Does Tricks. For two nights, the barriers between the artist and the audience vanish.
High above the pavement, The Silver Starlets spin on a trapeze with superhuman grace and vintage charm. A few yards away, The Unicycling Unicorn prepares a daredevil finale atop a 12 foot wheel, while Her Majesty’s Secret Circus recruits a laughing stranger into a high stakes comedy mission involving fire and plungers.
There are no set seats and no rigid schedules. You are the curator of your own evening.
You might start with a local brass band under the neon lights of Main Street, grab a drink at the Busker Bar in McCarthey Plaza, and end the night tucked into the theatrical beauty of the Eccles Theater Lobby. Discovery is truly around every corner.
The energy you feel is powered by the community. When a show ends and the performer "passes the hat," that is your moment to become part of the story. A few dollars in the bucket is more than a tip. It is a vote for a city that stays vibrant, creative, and a little bit quirky.
