Session 1: Selling Made Simple with Helen Kembery (Helen Helps)
Sales does not have to feel awkward, pushy or uncomfortable.
With over 20 years’ experience in sales across advertising, products and tech, Helen brings a friendly, practical, confidence-building approach to selling that works, especially if you do not see yourself as a “natural salesperson”.
This session covers:
- What sales really is and what it is not
- Understanding the buyer’s journey
- How people actually make buying decisions
- Simple, effective ways to sell your product or service
- How to sell with confidence, clarity and authenticity
You will leave with:
- A clearer understanding of how sales works in your business
- More confidence talking about and selling what you do
- Practical tips to increase revenue, conversions and opportunities
- A simpler, more human approach to selling that feels natural and doable
Session 2: Making Tax Digital with Buhir Rafiq (Total Books Accountants)
Making Tax Digital is changing how businesses manage and report their finances and it is important to understand what this means for you.
Buhir has over 25 years’ experience in tax, accountancy and business. For the last 16 years he has run his own accountancy practice, supporting thousands of SMEs and startups. He is also a Business Wales mentor and an active trustee and treasurer in the charity sector.
This session will cover:
- What Making Tax Digital is
- Who it applies to and when
- What you need to do to stay compliant
- How to set your business up with the right systems and processes
- Common mistakes to avoid and how to stay ahead of changes
You will leave with:
- Clarity and confidence about your tax obligations
- A better understanding of how to run your finances more efficiently
- Practical guidance you can act on straight away
Session 3: Sustainability in Business
This short session introduces simple, realistic ways to think about sustainability in your business without overwhelm or greenwashing.

- Simple steps you can take that are good for both business and the planet
- Food for thought about building a business that lasts

Who is this for & eligibilty:
You must be based within the city of Bristol boundary served by the Bristol City Council. This includes those who have an idea for a business, have recently started one or have a business which is already trading.
