School of Economics Market is a hands-on business field trip for students in grades 3-8 where they operate their own economy and experience the demands that businesses encounter. The students put the skills and knowledge they have learned in school into action in a facsimile of the real-world work environment.School of Economics is a two-day field trip.
Preparation day: Students will work with their assigned teams to make decisions on their products and design a marketing strategy. More information coming soon. Preparation day will be Friday, March 13, at a separate location in KCK!
School of Economics Business Day is March 25, 10 am to 2 pm at the School of Economics facility in Blue Springs, MO. Please plan to arrive no later than 9:45 am (9:30 for parent volunteers).
Parent Involvement:
-12 to 15 Volunteer adults are needed at the event (MPE membership and annual background checks are required.)
-Parental attendance is required for Preparation Day.
-Parents who are not volunteering may drop their students off at the School of Economics on March 25.
Registration will open for MPE Members only for one week in October before opening up to everyone. Our 2025 event sold out in the first week.
If spots become available, we will fill from our wait list up to December 31. If your schedule changes, please notify us as soon as possible so we can fill spots from our waitlist. However, due to preparation requirements no refunds can be given past December 31.
