Why We Gather
Burnt Toast & Big Feelings is not your typical professional development event.
This is a space for educators to slow down, reconnect, and remember that they matter too.
This year’s theme is Reclaim.
For some educators, reclaiming means joy. For others, it means rest, confidence, balance, boundaries, creativity, purpose, identity, or simply finding their way back to themselves.
Through brunch, honest conversation, reflection, storytelling, community, and inspiration, this event is designed to help educators begin the school year feeling more grounded, empowered, connected, and less alone.
Expect good food, meaningful conversation, moments that make you laugh, moments that make you reflect, and reminders that you are not doing this work alone.

- Parking will be available in the UNLV Cottage Grove Parking Garage.
- Dress in your favorite shade of orange and whatever makes you feel most confident and comfortable.
- Your ticket includes small bites, brunch-style offerings, and beverages.
- All ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
- Attendees will receive 2 NV Registry hours.
- Come alone, bring a friend, or bring your whole team.
- This event is for teachers, leaders, support staff, counselors, students, and anyone who cares deeply about education.
