About this Event
Join us for Affinity's Annual Burning Bowl Ceremony on Sunday, March 23, from 1-4pm at UIC Student Center West, 828 S. Wolcott Avenue, Ste 242. This event is open to the public and free of charge.
Our theme is "Rage. Resistance. Renewal."- what many of us feel right now.
Let's gather to (re)set our intentions, release our burdens, share ideas for Affinity programming and events, and celebrate community. We'll share highlights of what's in the works for 30th Anniversary programming and our work re-envisioning Affinity's leadership and staffing structure and programming. Together, we're strengthening Affinity from the inside out to ensure she's around for another 30 years!
We'll also honor this year's recipient of the Barbara "Robbie" Smith Award of Excellence, named in honor of Affinity founding board member, Robbie Smith. This award is given to a community member whose life exemplifies leadership, perseverance, strength, compassion, and integrity- all our beloved Robbie possessed.
We look forward to a joyful gathering pulsating with good energy, great people, lively music, and yummy food. See you soon!
RSVPs requested by Friday, March 21, for the catering headcount.
