Burnaby Speed Skating Club: Jan 2026 - Mar 2026 Drop-In Signup

Youth skaters who meet the BC Short Track Championship qualifying times, as well as siblings who are registered club skaters and also meet the BC Short Track Championship standards

Burnaby Speed Skating Club welcomes drop-in skaters to practice sessions under the following conditions:

• Skaters must already be registered with another Canadian speed skating club that provides you insurance for on-ice training.
• Skaters must also bring all required speed skating equipment
• You must register for each drop in session

Burnaby Speedskating cannot accept drop-ins who have no prior speed skating experience. You are encouraged to register for our Try Speed Skating program instead.

The coaches will determine whether a skater is suitable for a training session. If a skater is found not to be a good fit for the group, Burnaby Speed Skating Club will cancel the drop-in sessions and refund any unused tickets.
Drop-In Sessions

The following ice times are available for drop in skaters at the Kensington Park Arena, 6159 Curtis Street, Burnaby

• Tuesdays 9:00pm – 10:30pm

• Wednesday 8:45pm – 10:15pm

• Saturday 5:15pm – 6:30pm –

All drop-in skaters must purchase a ticket through EventBrite to join a practice. Ticket sales close 24 hours before the beginning of each session. Skaters without an Event Brite ticket for that practice will not be able to drop in. Each practice date has a limited number of drop-in tickets.

Refunds are available only when a drop-in ticket is cancelled at least 24 hours before the session. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are not eligible for a refund. If a practice is cancelled by the club, a refund will be issued.
