THE DETAILS:
It’s a new year and time for new burlesque class session. And we are gonna heat things up this winter with a slow and sexy new choreo! This will be a a sultry striptease utilizing a chair and a coat. It’s set to “Venus in Furs” and evokes dark feminine energy with a feline presence. Whether you are a seasoned performer or brand spankin’ new, this is a multi level class with choose your own adventure approach to choreography. No matter what, you’ll strut your stuff feelin like a superstar!
CLASS BREAK-DOWN:
Class consists of a basic warm up, a break down of technique, and those techniques will get drilled as combinations. At the end of the eight week session, we’ll have a fully fleshed out dance routine you can perform onstage or for a loved one! And we always end class with a little lead-n-follow freestyle!
WHAT TO WEAR?
Class attire is anything you can comfortably move in and feel good! And while I love a sexy heel, we go barefoot or do a dance slipper or sneaker in the studio, in order to preserve the floor. You will also use a coat (preferably furry) for some fun peekaboos and tease-moments. But really, you can practice it in any coat you’re in or none at all and simply mime the coat-work. It’s totally up to you!
PRICING, LOCATION, MISC.
Class is open to a levels of dancer and all walks of adventurous, daring people! While a familiarity of dance vocabulary is always helpful, its not necessary as I always will break things down and offer any needed modifications or more advanced options. The 8 week session starts 1/7th and runs until 2/25th. Classes are located at Kinections Studio, 718 University Ave. Register the full session for $120 (that’s $15 a class) or drop in class to class for $20.
....AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY?!
This class also has an optional performance opportunity, as it will be a group dance featured in the upcoming springtime Pretty Kitties Show, 3/22nd. If you are interested in performing it in that show-register for the full session and let me know by class 3, so that i can factor you into formations and featured sections.
