About this Event
Trinity Burkitt Orchard Planting + Free Lunch!
As part of Health & Sport Week, we’re inviting all students, staff, alumni and friends to come together and help plant an orchard at Trinity St. James’s Centre.
Get active outdoors during Health & Sport Week. Join us March 16th from 1-2pm at The William Stokes Centre, Trinity St. James’s Centre.
Healthy Trinity invites all students to come together and help plant a brandnew orchard in honour on Trinity Alumni Denis Burkitt who made significant discoveries in the relationship between fibre and bowel cancer.
This hands-on event is designed for everyone, no gardening experience needed. Healthy Trinity Steam will guide you through planting young fruit trees that will grow into a shared community resource for years to come. By taking part, you’ll be supporting biodiversity, boosting campus green space, and creating a healthy, living legacy for future students.
And yes… there’s a free lunch! All volunteers will enjoy a tasty, nourishing meal after the planting session. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping us cultivate a healthier, greener campus.
Whether you’re passionate about sustainability or looking for a refreshing break from assignments, we’d love to have you there. Bring your energy, your curiosity, and a friend!
