Birželio 18 d., ketvirtadienį, 19 val., į Kirtimų kultūros centrą sugrįžta prieš kelis metus čia nuostabų koncertą surengę muzikantai iš Burkina Faso – tradicinę šio Afrikos regiono muziką pristatanti grupė BURKINA AZZA.____________________________
„Burkina Azza“ bobų kalba reiškia „Burkinos griotas“, o griotais vadinami Afrikos genčių pasakotojai ir muzikantai vadinamas.
Grupės nariai – penki broliai, kilę iš Džibaso regiono Burkina Faso šiaurės vakaruose, o dabar gyvena Uagadugu. Jie siekia dalytis savo krašto muzikinėmis tradicijomis ir istorija, kartu priimdami šiuolaikinės Afrikos muzikos įtaką.
Muzikantai groja balafonu, naudoja ir tokius mušamuosius instrumentus kaip Djembé, Bara, Tama, Doum, bei styginius instrumentus Kora ir N'Gon). Broliai tęsia šios protėvių muzikos tradiciją, perduotą savo tėvo.
BURKINA AZZA koncertavo tokiuose svarbiuose festivaliuose kaip FIMU, Le rêve de l'Aborigene, Sam'Africa, Africajarc, dalyvavo solidarumo iniciatyvose ir kt.
Turtingas ir įvairus grupės pasirodymas nukels klausytojus į iniciacijos kelionę nuo Uagadugu gatvių iki atokiausių Burkina Faso kaimų, taip pat stebins Afrikai būdingų garsų gausa, akis ir ausis džiuginantys rankų darbo instrumentai ir kostiumai.
Koncerto metu BURKINA AZZA pristatys naujausią, ketvirtąjį savo albumą – 2026 m. išleistą „Mougnou“.

On Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m., the band BURKINA AZZA from Burkina Faso are returning to the Kirtimai Cultural Center.

Burkina Azza means ‘Griot of Burkina’ in the Bobo language. The five brothers in the group hail from the Djibasso region in north-west Burkina and are now based in Ouagadougou. They aim to share their traditions and history while embracing the influences of modern African music.
Although balafonists from generation to generation, they use other percussion instruments (Djembé, Bara, Tama, Doum) as well as string instruments (Kora, N'Goni). Les Frères Koueta carry on the tradition of this ancestral music from father to son.
Burkina Azza have performed at leading festivals (FIMU, Le rêve de l'Aborigene, Sam'Africa, Africajarc), as part of solidarity initiatives and in hundreds of alternative venues, café concerts and theatres.
The rich and varied show will take the spectators on a journey of initiation from the streets of Ouagadougou to the remotest villages of Burkina Faso and surpise the audience by the profusion of sounds specific to Africa, and by the handcrafted instruments and costumes that delight the eyes and ears.
During the concert, BURKINA AZZA will present their latest, fourth album, "Mougnou", released in 2026.
