Burden's Landing
Burden's Landing is a 4 piece alternative rock band from Washington, DC. Their debut EP, Could This Be a Portal?, was released in August of 2024 via Rat Hill Records. The EP has been described as “rock and space fusion”, “chill, hypotonic”, and “an audio car crash.” (V13 Media)
Forming around songs written by guitarist/vocalist Noah Mullinax, Burden’s Landing began in October of 2023, with Mullinax linking up with drummer Robin Zeng, bassist Chris Luis-Jorge, and keyboardist Sly Samudre. In April of 2024, the quartet spent a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Front Royal, Virginia, self-recording their debut EP. With a 30 minute runtime, Could This Be a Portal? is an ambitious DIY release featuring familiar alternative rock sounds with influences from grunge to shoegaze to free jazz.
