Bull Creek Crosscut Mentorship - Table Rock Wilderness

We will be removing fallen logs with crosscut saws, due to the trail being in a designated wilderness area. Some limited recertification opportunities will be available. The saw work is primarily low complexity, with some moderate complexity logs mixed in. Participants are welcome to sign up for as many days as they’re available for. I will be camping at the Rooster Rock trailhead, approx 15 minutes farther up the road from the Bull Creek trailhead, on Sunday and Monday nights. Neither trailhead has bathroom facilities or water, so plan accordingly.

Hiking information:

The Bull Creek trail was affected by the 2020 Beachie Creek Fire. The trail is on an old roadbed that, at times, rises steeply. It moves in and out of burnt areas, so shade can be limited. We will hike anywhere from 1/2 to 2 miles up, depending on how far the previous crew worked.

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

• A pack to bring all of this with you on trail
  
• TKO provides all tools and personal protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, glasses)

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended. Open-toed shoes will not be allowed.)
  
• Long sleeved shirts and pants
  
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
