Please join us in supporting Andrew when he comes out to Colorado.Andrew Dendariarena is the head instructor of Tatsujin Dojo in New York City. A lifelong martial artist, he began training in 1990 and has dedicated his life to preserving traditional martial lineages while applying their principles to modern self-defense, personal protection, and combative movement.
Andrew has been teaching Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu since 2004 and has traveled to Japan several times to train directly under Soke Masaaki Hatsumi and his senior Daishihan. He holds the rank of 15th Dan, Daishihan in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
In January 2021, Andrew was given the honor of representing Renshinkan Daito Ryu as New York’s first official Renshinkan Dojo. He currently holds the rank of 8th Degree Black Belt, Hanshi, making him the highest-ranking Renshinkan Daito Ryu instructor in the United States. He also holds the title of Kancho Dairi, Acting Director of the Renshinkan organization, and is the only person in the United States to hold this title.
Andrew is also a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Military Police officer. During his deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, he taught martial arts and combative principles to fellow soldiers.
In addition to his traditional martial arts background, Andrew currently works as an Executive Protection Agent in New York City, protecting high-profile VIPs. He also teaches self-defense seminars to students at New York University several times a year.
With over 33 years of martial arts experience, Andrew brings together classical Japanese martial traditions, military experience, professional protection work, and practical self-defense instruction in a way that is both deeply rooted and highly relevant for today’s world. People might recognize him as Noguchi sensei's body guard.
