Building your own Community History project

A networking event providing support and resources to help individuals/groups looking to plan and build a new community history project.
About this Event

This is the final event in a six-part series taking place this autumn, hosted by Oxford University's Community History Hub. The events will showcase a range of innovative local historical projects run by, or in partnership with, community historians. Learn about the latest new research being conducted on Oxfordshire's diverse histories, as well as gaining new skills that could help you shape your own project ideas.

On 28 November, join us for a networking event providing the opportunity to access support and resources to help you build and plan your own community history project. Several of our local colleagues and partners will be on hand, running stalls and showcasing the help they can offer with the design, execution and evaluation of your research project.

Colleagues from the Oxfordshire Local History Association, the Oxfordshire History Centre, the Victoria County History Project, and Oxford University's Impact, Evaluation and Public/Community Engagement with Research teams will all be on hand. Come along to chat and make connections with these different representatives, and to pick up all sorts of useful tips: whether you want to know how to access local historical archives; find collaborators for your project; or figure out how to monitor and evaluate the impact of your activities - and much more.

The event is free and everyone is welcome, but please note that the number of spaces available is limited, so do book in advance. If you have any questions about the event, you are welcome to contact Dr Priya Atwal (Community History Fellow) via email at [email protected].
