DOC Alberta is excited to announce our 2026 workshops: “Building Your Audience”, a full-day professional development event for documentary filmmakers in Alberta. These workshops are designed to build audience connection strategies and navigate the evolving landscape of marketing, promotion, social media trends, and help you get eyes on your project.
As the documentary landscape continues to evolve, filmmakers are increasingly being asked not only to create compelling work, but also to think strategically about how that work reaches audiences. These workshops are designed to support Alberta documentary filmmakers in navigating that challenge.
Through industry conversations, networking opportunities, and professional development sessions, attendees will gain insight into audience-building, promotion, festivals, outreach, and the changing ecosystem surrounding documentary film.
Whether you are developing your first documentary project or preparing to release a completed film, this event is an opportunity to connect with fellow filmmakers and engage with industry professionals from across Alberta and beyond.
