About this Event
COURSE INFORMATION
In this two-day intensive course, participants will learn how to apply the principles and practices of trauma informed care (TIC) to support the development of organizational cultures that:
- recognize the prevalence, signs, and impacts of trauma;
- infuse knowledge and shared vocabulary into policies, procedures, and practices;
- actively resist re-traumatization; and
- promote restoration, well-being, and growth (adapted from SAMHSA and the National Council for Mental Wellbeing).
This course is not a train-the-trainer; rather, this course serves to equip internal facilitators and consultants for trauma informed culture change. Participants will come away with resources to build awareness of TIC in their organizations, to support the establishment of practices that align with the principles of TIC, and to navigate the challenges that arise with organizational change in a more trauma-informed manner. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with others in the class who are also working toward TIC implementation, as well as hear from the trainers on key insights and successful strategies they have gleaned from their consulting work.
The program begins both days at 8:15am Central Time and concludes at 4:30pm Central Time. This course is very interactive and requires full attendance and participation to receive both a certificate of completion and the resource cloud drive access. No part of the course will be available asynchronously.
Registration must be received on or before January 27, 2025.
