About this Event
Washington’s postsecondary students are navigating a housing landscape that was not designed with them in mind. While awareness of student basic needs and housing insecurity has grown, institutions and community partners continue to face policy barriers, funding constraints, and limited coordination across systems.
The Postsecondary Student Housing Summit is a regional, action-oriented convening designed to move beyond awareness and toward practical, place-based solutions. This summit will bring together postsecondary institutions, local governments, housing providers, funders, and nonprofit partners to:
- Challenge common myths about who today’s students are and how they experience housing insecurity
- Clarify policy and funding pathways, including opportunities and constraints within LIHTC and other tools
- Highlight promising partnerships and models already working in Washington
- Support regional planning and relationship-building between colleges and local housing ecosystems
- Develop near-term strategies and longer-term visions for improving housing stability through graduation
This event is cohosted by LISC Puget Sound, United Way of King County, State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, and Washington Student Achievement Council.
