Where AI Prototypes and Early-Stage Startups Meet Real Business β€” Oxford North | 28 May 2026
About this Event

About This Event

Building AI for Business - Demo Day is a showcase of working AI prototypes built to solve real SME and enterprise challenges.

On stage you'll see teams from our 2 May Hackathon alongside early-stage AI startups, all presenting solutions they've built around the themes that matter most to business right now: intelligent automation, AI agents, workflow optimisation, and more.

This is not a conference. There are no theoretical talks about what AI might do. Everything you'll see on 28 May has been built, tested, and validated against real-world business use cases.

Investors assess. Mentors give feedback. The public watches, learns, and asks questions. The best solutions get recognised.

Organised by AI Centre for Business, From Experimentation β†’ Adoption β†’ Impact.

πŸš€ Startup Ticket β€” Present, Get Feedback, Get Noticed

Demo Day is your stage.

This ticket is for early-stage AI startups who want to present their product or solution to a live audience of investors, mentors, business leaders, and engaged members of the public.

Whether you participate in our 2 May Hackathon or you're an independent startup ready to showcase your work: if you're building AI solutions for business, we want to hear from you.

As a presenting startup you will:

  • Get a dedicated slot to pitch and demo your solution to the full room
  • Receive structured feedback from our panel of investors and mentors
  • Be featured in the AI Centre for Business post-event report and communications
  • Connect with potential investors, partners, customers, and collaborators in the room

This is your opportunity to get in front of the right people β€” people who can fund, advise, and champion what you're building.

Applications to present are reviewed by the AI Centre for Business team. Securing a Startup Ticket is subject to approval. A startup ticket allows 2 co-founders to attend the event. If the startup is not selected for a demo on the day, the ticket price is refunded.

🎟️ General Admission β€” Learn, Be Inspired, Connect

You don't need to be a developer or an investor to get enormous value from Demo Day.

This event is for anyone who is curious about where AI is actually heading in business β€” and wants to see it working, up close, in real use cases.

Come if you are:

  • A business owner or manager exploring what AI could do for your organisation
  • A professional wanting to understand the AI landscape beyond the headlines
  • A student or early-career practitioner building your knowledge
  • Simply curious about what the next generation of AI tools actually looks like in practice

What you'll take away:

  • A clear, grounded picture of what AI can do for business today
  • Inspiration for your own organisation's AI journey
  • Connections with builders, practitioners, and fellow explorers
  • Direct access to the teams behind the demos β€” ask the questions you've always wanted to ask

πŸ’Ό Investor / Mentor Ticket β€” Assess, Advise, Discover

Demo Day is a curated pipeline of some of the most promising AI talent and early-stage solutions in the UK β€” all in one room, in one afternoon.

This ticket is for:

  • Angel investors and VCs looking for early-stage AI deal flow
  • Corporate innovation and venture teams scouting for partnerships or acquisition targets
  • Experienced practitioners and industry leaders willing to give structured feedback
  • Accelerator and incubator partners

As an Investor or Mentor you will:

  • Receive a briefing on all presenting teams ahead of the event
  • Have a formal role in the Assessment session
  • Be introduced on stage and recognised as part of the judging process
  • Get dedicated networking time with founders and teams during the break
