About this Event
The Hillsborough County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD), in partnership with the Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management, WellBuilt Cities, and the University of South Florida Sunshine ERC, presents our "Building a More Disaster Resilient Future: Community Conversations" World Cafe designed to focus on innovative strategies that will increase disaster preparedness measures in neighborhoods across Hillsborough County and the region.
This event will first start with a panel on a whole community approach for looking at efforts that are currently taking place in regard to building social networks, enhancing skills, identifying needs, and leveraging those connections to support populations before, during, and after a disaster.
Following our panel discussion, we will have three facilitated breakout sessions where community and faith leaders, non-profit organizations, professionals, residents, and academics can come together to strategize on action steps to identify preparedness and intervention strategies that encourage innovation and collaboration to protect some of our most vulnerable populations.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Parking permits will be given upon arrival and instructions as we get closer to the day of the event.
Share this opportunity with colleagues, friends, and others who may be activists or community leaders dedicated to supporting residents and vulnerable populations in neighborhoods throughout Hillsborough County.
