Factory Simulation presented by The House of Sew
Participants will role play the workers and managers in a clothing factory in India by making mock clothing in a factory line. Participants will understand the economic incentives that create factories and the effects that factories have on the urban poor.
Participants will handle complex decisions that real workers and managers have to make, including whether to leave the job or to lower working conditions, respectively. You will understand how you contribute to poor working conditions, and evaluate possible solutions you can act on.
***Space is extremely limited for this workshop, please make sure to register your spot.
Building a YEG Circular Textiles Economy Discussion Panel
Fashion Revolution Canada Board member Claire Theaker-Brown leads a deep-dive into how Edmonton businesses are leading the movement towards a circular textile economy. Topics will include product and system innovation; policy and funding landscapes; and Edmonton's place in Canada's overall textile sustainability strategy. Attendees will be invited to ask questions and contribute their own perspectives to an honest, solutions-focused conversation.
