Dive into the world of 2D game development! In our upcoming workshop, we’ll show you how a classic platformer is created—from the character’s very first jumps all the way to a finished level that you can design yourself.
We’ll start with taking a look at what actually makes a good platformer and work together to develop a character with basic movements such as running, jumping, and falling.
Next, we’ll place platforms, obstacles, and interactive objects, gradually building a complete level piece by piece. Along the way, you’ll learn how to create atmosphere with simple means and how to make gameplay varied and engaging.
Finally, we’ll test our level together—and you’ll get to experience live how individual ideas turn into a playable section that combines challenge and fun.
