An interactive workshop for the seasoned DJ, aspiring DJ, or curious dancer. We will:
⚙️ Gain concrete tools to work towards your definition of a successful set
đź’ˇ Workshop how to build the case for even your most 'out there' song
đź‘€ Figure out what 'reading the room' even means
🍔 Have time to grab dinner before class @fusionvibedance (8:20pm)
Note: This is a curation-focused workshop more than technical + tools workshop. However, RSVP with any burning questions and we will do our best to support!

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR
Leah Vendl (she/they) is a designer, collaborator, teacher and DJ working subtle, surrounding magic through brand identity, event production, relationship, and the dance floor.
As a dancer and DJ, Leah works, plays, and dreams with her dance families to develop a role-fluid, consent-focused, justice-informed dance practice. As an instructor, she specializes in experiential classes that are all-levels and exploratory. Leah is a perpetual student of many dance forms and their social and cultural contexts, and seeks to honor these lineages with how she designs her material life.
A music-lover since forever, Leah began DJing house parties in the PNW in 2010, before fusion dances at venues were commonplace. For the last decade+ she’s DJ'd fusion and blues events across the so-called U.S. and Europe.
Leah draws out the room's deepest groove, curating sets that are luscious and heart-opening. She enjoys learning and showing the musical and historical links between genres as bridges between songs. Her favorite thing about DJing is shaping a space of release, tapping into the emotional and somatic longings of the room — gently cracking open the party like a glow stick.
