Learn to Make an Ottoman from Scratch at the Bespoke Original Upholstery School!

Join us for a one-day event where you'll learn to create a beautiful ottoman from scratch or reupholster your old one in a similar style. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is perfect for you!

Workshop Details:

  • Date: October 12th
  • Time: 10 AM - 4 PM (with an extra hour's grace if needed)
  • Location: 205 Birmingham Street, LVAC

Pricing:

  • Small Ottoman: $250
  • Large Ottoman: $350

Materials and Tools:

Provided:

  • Wood Base: We will provide a sturdy 1-inch wood base for your ottoman.
  • Foam: High-quality foam for comfort and durability.
  • Fabric: Choose from our selection of free fabrics or purchase at cost. You may also bring your own fabric, but it must be verified by us to ensure it is suitable for upholstery.
  • Gimp and Studs: For a professional finish.
  • Dust Cover: To complete your ottoman.
  • Paint or Stain: Available for legs if needed.

To Bring or Order:

  • Legs: Choose your preferred legs and either bring them or order through us for better prices than Michaels.

Tools:

  • Staple Gun: Essential for attaching fabric and foam to the wood base.
  • Scissors: For cutting fabric and foam.
  • Upholstery Needles: For stitching fabric when needed.
  • Hammer: For attaching studs and securing staples.
  • Measuring Tape: To ensure precise cuts and placements.
  • Spray Adhesive: To secure the foam to the wood base.
  • Chalk or Fabric Marker: For marking fabric measurements.

What You’ll Learn:

  1. Preparing the Wood Base: Learn how to prepare and secure the wood base.
  2. Placing Foam and Wrapping: Properly place and wrap foam around the wood base.
  3. Fabric Placement: Techniques for placing and securing fabric, including fold and pleat corners.
  4. Finishing Touches: Add gimp and studs for a professional finish.
  5. Painting/Staining Legs: Optionally paint or stain the legs to match your style.
  6. Applying Dust Cover: The final step to complete your ottoman.
