About this Event
Build a Sun-Powered Neighborhood is a fun, hands-on engineering workshop where kids ages 6–12 will design and build their very own mini neighborhood powered by solar energy. Throughout the week, students will create colorful cardboard and 3D-printed houses, add streets and tiny characters, and use solar panels, copper tape, and LED lights to make their neighborhood shine. Using painting, collage, glue, and creative building techniques, students will work together to bring their detailed sun-powered world to life while exploring engineering, teamwork, and creativity.
This exciting project also introduces students to real-world careers and concepts connected to environmental engineering, urban planning, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and renewable energy. By designing a sustainable community, students will learn how cities can use clean energy and smart design to create healthier and more environmentally friendly neighborhoods for the future.
