About this Event
REGISTRATION AVAILABLE BEGINNING APRIL 28TH
Chicago for Chicagoans is thrilled to bring back one of our most popular tours! Join us for a walk around the Buena Park neighborhood, led by Chicago northside native Anthony Alfaro. Anthony brings his love of extravagant mansions and historical drama to this tour that'll help you explore the community his mom called home in the 1970s.
Beginning at the Sheridan Red Line station, we'll discover the history, landmarks, and architecture of this small sub-neighborhood of Uptown. Learn of glamourous 1920s theatres and a hospital once serving the rich & famous, see the city's largest municipal beach, and pick up colloquial architectural terminology like the "dickie front" before ending the day with a drink at the Holiday Club.

Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too! We are a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates inclusive walking tours by & for Chicago residents, designed to represent the histories of all Chicagoans.
