A zine (pronounced “zeen”) is a self-published, often handmade magazine, booklet or other printed work with roots that stretch back to the 1930s. Due to their low cost of production, zines have become a powerful form of self-expression for communities of all kinds, often used to amplify underrepresented or marginalized voices. Join Buder Library as we walk you through the basics of writing and crafting your own zine using everyday materials - no computers necessary! By the end of each program, you should walk away with a complete zine ready to be shared. It’ll be an ama-zine time.Writers are encouraged to bring what they are currently working on or they may select a writing prompt for a new challenge.
