Step into a world where tradition and innovation, human craftsmanship and technology, the artificial and the organic world, and the past and the future weave together - discover Hungarian creativity at Milan Design Week!Between 7 and 13 April, „Budapest Select – A VVoven View”, curated by Angéla Góg DLA and Barna Erdész, presents 24 Hungarian creators’ experimental attitude, curiosity, and commitment to preserving and reimagining past values. The exhibition unfolds across three spaces: one showcasing traditional material usage and techniques, another dedicated to technological innovations, and a third where both worlds coexist. Designed by URBA, the installation explores the collaboration of humans and artificial intelligence, with floating white paper sheets symbolizing limitless creative potential. Yet, as emphasised by threads running through the exhibition, the final decisions remain firmly in human hands.
Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy illustration workshops, a DJ set, wine tasting, and traditional Hungarian egg painting while reflecting on key questions: Can tradition and innovation truly be separated, or do they exist in a continuously evolving, organic relationship? What is the artistic philosophy of Hungarian creators within this contrasting framework?
Organized by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, the Budapest Select Exhibition is part of the official program of 5VIE Design Week.
