About this Event
Masks return to theatre for the safety and accessibility of all!
Masked Up Theatre, created by Aspen Samuel, presents its debut show 1533 Days in a jarring exploration of chronic illness and disability across recent history, paralleled with the experiences of COVID-19 long haulers and chronically ill people in recent decades.
The production follows Charlie, disabled by COVID-19 and trying to find ways to fill their days when movement, activity and even thinking too hard can trigger dangerous illness all too easily. He considers history and the lives of disabled people in ages past, the role community played in taking care of the most vulnerable, and the reasons that this has been left behind in the modern age. All this is interspersed with musings on what to do with the day tomorrow, treatments of something that has been mistreated for so long, and how to keep living life in the face of losing everything you had planned.
There will be 2 events: 4pm and 7pm.
