Info: WHO IS?
Samantha “Sammie” Porter is a DeafBlind, BIPOC, Queer woman.
She was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sammie attended a mainstream school for her entire life until high school, when she transferred to the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, graduating there in 2008. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2008 to 2012 but didn’t complete a bachelor’s degree in social work. In 2012, Sammie left Wisconsin and moved to Washington State, where she worked at Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. as a production lead for more than eight years. Sammie was involved in the community, serving on the team of Protactile Theatre and participating in the DeafBlind Service Center and Washington State DeafBlind Citizenship for a few years, and she was actively involved in the Seabeck Retreat as a team member for four years.

During the COVID pandemic, Sammie decided to change her life and sought a different lifestyle as well as opportunities to gain knowledge and experience. She
