About this Event

πŸ₯Ύ ABOUT THE WALK πŸ₯Ύ

Discover the serene beauty of Swift Valley Nature Reserve and uncover the hidden history of the Brownsover Arm, a disused section of the original Oxford Canal built in the late 18th century. This abandoned stretch offers a glimpse into the past, having been bypassed during the canal's straightening in the 1830s.

The route continues towards Cosford, a fascinating shrunken medieval village, before passing near the village farm and a shooting ground. We then make our way back through peaceful fields to rejoin the canal. Our journey concludes with a scenic loop near the Harvester Bell & Barge Pub, leading us back to the starting point.

πŸ“… Details: Please arrive by 6:15 am, ready for a 6:30 am sharp start. If it’s your first Adventure Geek walk, arrive a little early to meet your friendly walk leader (wearing a red "walk leader" pin badge).
