Eric Nathan leads the Brown University Orchestra in a concert at the Lindemann Performing Arts Center. This concert features music that demonstrates resilience in the face of challenges. The concert opens with the world premiere of Brown graduate student composer Inga Chinilina’s Quiet Light, which finds gratitude in the quiet moments of dusk, amidst challenging times. Anna Clyne’s concerto DANCE is a work that transverses love, joy, loss and rebirth, based on a Rumi poem, featuring international cello superstar Zlatomir Fung. The final work is Shostakovich’s monumental Symphony No. 5, which is dramatic, tragic and depicts the triumph of the human spirit above adversity. Tickets: $15 regular; $7 senior; $3 student. Zlatomir Fung’s residency at Brown University is made possible through support from the Brown Arts Institute.
