About this Event

We hope you'll join us for Brotherhood Breakfast- Abilene!

Dr. DJ Gililland grew up in the small Texas town of White Deer, where sports, faith, and community helped shape his life. He earned his Bachelor of Behavioral Sciences from Hardin-Simmons University, a Master of Science in Education from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Doctor of Education from Texas A&M University.

DJ spent 17 years as a clinical athletic trainier- including 13 years at Hardin-Simmons University- and later served nine years as a graduate professor in athletic training, teaching at Samford University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and the University of Houston.

In 2024, he stepped away from athletic training to serve full-time as Metro Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in West Central Texas, helping lead ministry across 21 counties surrounding San Angelo, Brownwood, and Stephenville.

DJ and his wife Andrea, an education professor at Hardin-Simmons University, have a daughter, Taylor, and a golden retriever named James Earl Rudder.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month, Brotherhood Abilene hosts a breakfast for all men. Our purpose is to create an environment that encourages men to invite their communities, co-workers, friends, and associates who desire to gain Godly wisdom. This could be the first step, for some, toward learning more about the faith that drives so many men in our community.

The Brotherhood breakfast will always feature food (of course) and a guest speaker. You can expect to show up and be fed physically and spiritually. The cost for the breakfast is $10. Tickets can purchased online. If you are a church or business and are interested in purchasing a table (6-8 seats) please message us and we'll get you set up with a private table.

Register soon because space is limited.
