🎙️ LAST Monday: Bay Area Poet Laureates in Conversation

Monday, August 25th 6 pm -9 pm

This August, we’re paying homage to past and present Bay Area Laureates!

Join us for an intimate evening celebrating the powerful voices of Bay Area Poet Laureates at Brooklyn Sound Lab's signature monthly gathering.

This special edition of LAST Monday brings together distinguished poets Dr. Ayodele Nzinga, Tongo Eisen-Martin, Stephen Sharpe, José Cordón, Daniel B. Summerhill, co-hosted by Berkeley Poet Laureate Aya De Leon for an evening of poetry, conversation, and creative exchange.

Experience the magic of Tiny Desk meets Hollywood Reporter Roundtable in our welcoming Berkeley studio space. This isn't your typical poetry reading—it's a living-room salon where the entire room becomes the stage, fostering authentic dialogue about craft, community, and the laureate experience.

What to Expect:

  • Intimate readings from acclaimed Bay Area Poet Laureates
  • Candid conversations about poetry's role in public life
  • A warm, unpretentious atmosphere designed for connection

LAST Monday is Brooklyn Sound Lab's monthly series celebrating the intersection of storytelling, sound, and community.

Each gathering is intentionally small, creating space for meaningful artistic exchange and genuine connection between creators and audiences.

Tell the fiercest storytellers - instrumentalists, singers, poets, lyricists, and movement connoisseurs you know, about what we are creating with this community and let's get ready to create a time!

Space is limited to optimize for quality connections.

By attending, you consent to being photographed and/or recorded for promotional use by the organizers.

See you soon,

The BSL Team

----------------------

Brooklyn Sound Lab creates immersive audio experiences for theatrical, literary, and musical creators who tell stories reflecting diverse human experiences. We're not just technicians, we're artists.

We offer a purpose-built space that’s designed specifically for audiobook, theatrical, and immersive productions. Our capabilities meet the highest industry standards. Ultimately, our goal is to make professional audio production more accessible to diverse voices in our community, and we take pride in our team of audio technicians and artists, representing a range of ethnicities, genders, and perspectives.

LAST Monday is an opportunity to check out the space, meet the team and other amazing creatives, sample our work, and learn about our plans for this sound studio and lounge!

You can look forward to joining us for listening sessions, jams, movie nights, and community building. Mostly, we're looking forward to your participation in building a home for storytelling collaborations through the creative and enhanced use of sound.
