An immersive evening exploring the future of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT)—a site at the heart of Red Hook’s working waterfront.
About this Event

Join us on Friday, January 30th from 6–9 PM at Compère Collective (351 Van Brunt Street) for an immersive evening exploring the future of the Brooklyn Marine Terminal (BMT)—a site at the heart of Red Hook’s working waterfront, climate resilience, and community identity.

Hosted by Resilient Red Hook in collaboration with Pratt Institute’s Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment, this free public event invites you to engage with a compelling exhibit, share your ideas, and join a growing conversation about what’s at stake in the transformation of this critical 122-acre site.

What’s at Stake? As proposals circulate for thousands of new housing units and large-scale land use changes at the BMT, local voices must be at the table. Can Red Hook preserve its industrial jobs, maritime heritage, and climate readiness while adapting to future needs?

What You’ll Experience:

  • A student-designed visual exhibit covering the past, present, and speculative futures of the BMT
  • Interactive stations to share your feedback, priorities, and neighborhood knowledge
  • Light refreshments, printed resources, and opportunities to connect with neighbors and advocates

Who Should Attend:Red Hook residents, workers, students, organizers, artists, business owners, policymakers, elected officials—anyone who cares about the future of Red Hook and our waterfront community.

Date & Time:Friday, January 30, 2026 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM EST
