About this Event
Oh, sure, it’s Super Bowl Sunday. But it’s also Curling Night in Brooklyn, and if you would rather do something else than sit on your couch watching padded people deliver TBIs to other padded people, come join us for Superb Owl Curling Night!
We'll be playing 6-end games with other BLCC players and possibly some visiting teams from nearby clubs. Or if there is a free sheet, you're welcome to practice some skills and drills and hone your technique. Sign up as a four person team, or indivdually. Teams will be organized on-site amongst the players as they see fit.
All player slots are first come first served, so if you want to make sure your whole team is signed up, the surest way to do this is to buy a block of four tickets all at once in one order. Our events often sell out in a matter of days.
This is OPEN to Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club members, members of other clubs, and anyone who has taken a Try Curling/Learn to Curl class.
There will be broomstacking afterwards with beer, snacks and water. We plan to watch some curling matches and oh, yeah, maybe check in on that other game as well...

TIME: Please plan to show up at 6:10pm to account for any traffic, parking or subway delays and so we have time to set up, organize everyone, complete any waiver paperwork and get out on the ice on time at 6:45!
LOCATION: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, 171 East Dr, Brooklyn NY 11225. Take the Q train to Parkside Av. or otherwise find your way to the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance to Prospect Park, enter the park and walk up the hill. For those driving, there is ample parking at a lot in the park, direct your GPS to this location, then walk through the park to the rink.
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: Because the Lakeside rink is only partially covered, we occasionally must cancel events due to extreme weather conditions. If there is a weather cancellation, BLCC will make its best effort to reschedule the event. In somes cases rescheduling may not be feasible in which case BLCC will issue a refund for single night events.
